| Wes fortunately came across a Cosworth-powered Merkur for sale in America with a twist. This one had four wheel drive (Sapphire 4x4 drivetrain)! Now the usual guy would just build it up and drive it. Not Wes!! Wes had grander plans. He didn't feel the Merkur that the drivetrain was in, was 'clean' enough so he bought a Merkur soley for the transplant and went through the engine and changed every single bolt, then swapped it in. To say Wes is a gifted perfectionist is an understatement!! Just one look at the engine bay will tell you that!! Anything that can be done better was done better.
