The Beginning
Having brought a Merkur to England, sprucing it up (The London XR4Ti) only to sell it when I shipped it back to America wasn't what I was expecting... I was expecting to live in NY and never go back to live in England.  But everyone knows not everything goes to plan.  I ended up going to back to England Merkurless.
To satisfy my craving, I bought a 1990 Sierra Sapphire Ghia 4x4 - the only factory Sapphire 4x4 car
NOT to be powered by a Cosworth engine. Was a great all around car, but Sapphires weren't for me, so I sold it when it blew a headgasket.  After which I bought a 1983 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.  That TOO got sold.

Let's face it.  What I always wanted was a Sierra Cosworth.  I wanted it to be LHD just in case I ever decided to go back to America.  Being in England, RHD was all I can find at the time.  I was about to import yet another Merkur to England (to be fitted with Cosworth drivetrain),.when I came across this shell.  It was an authentic LHD Cosworth from Italy which a company in London had imported
just to strip Cosworth parts from to sell.  Since I dealt with these guys before, I agreed on purchasing the car.  I quickly went to the workshop to view the car....
This is how I first laid eyes on the shell.  I almost walked away from it.  But if I wanted a real Cosworth, that was LHD in England, I had little choice.  So, after much soul searching I decided to start what seemed like a vain project and bring this Cosworth back to life as it was one of only appx. 2400 LHD 3dr Cosworths made.  The heavy dent in the passenger door didn't help much in the buying decision either!  But what i gained was a rust-free Italian shell with a complete interior, wiring, hood, etc.  The shell was in much better shape that I actually expected.

But take a look at the above.  Would you have what "it takes" to take on a project this complex??!!
