Initially, I had a diaphram dump valve attached on the hot side of the intercooler dump valve spout.  I always wondered way (with the stock actuator) I never got the full 9 psi.  It turned out the dump valve was contributing to a vacumn leak (bad diaphram), so I removed the valve and plugged up the hole.  Now I got 9 psi but I had no way to dump the excess boost.  When releasing the throttle, I got a 'chattering' noise.  While sounding cool, it was the sound of excess boost stalling the turbo blades.  Not good.

This became more of an issue when i upgraded the actuator to put out 15psi.  So I ordered the above hose and dump valve seperately from Ebay.  The hose relocates the dump valve to the 'cold side' of the engine right by the throttle body.  Two benefits from this:  Better response as it's nearer to the throttle and secondly, it protects the dump valve against melting it's innards.

The dump valve is a Bailey DV26 (yes the Evo version designed to work with Merkurs and Escort RS Turbo).  This is my third Bailey valve - each one giving me wonderful service.  I highly recommend this valve.  At idle,, there are no leaks yet it releases boost effortlessly - with a nice loud sound deserving of a Cosworth.

The hose is actually designed for a Cosworth 4x4 and it shows.  The hose barely reaches the 2WD intercooler.  This is because 4WD intercoolers are closer to the engine due to their thicker core.  It's a quality piece, and is my second Samco hose (first being the dump valve takeoff hose on the intercooler).

Since cars later than 1985 in the US require a third brake light, I decided to install it.  Statistics also prove that such a device reduces rear end collisions by 53%.  After plenty of though, I decided to also return the tailights to their stock appearance.  The tailights were donated from a Merkur, which are identical to the Sierra ones (trivia note: Sierra tailights are made in France, while Merkur ones are made in Germany)  The wiring is concealed in the hatch's weatherstripping and trim.

Cossie 4x4 Intercooler installed - this is a popular upgrade and allows better intercooling and more power.  As you can see from the accompanying pics, the 4x4 one is bigger and yet fits in the same spot as the standard intercooler.  With the high heat summers we have in Texas, a 4x4 intercooler is a great idea.
This is my new parcelshelf (made from fiberglass) that will in the future house my larger than stock speakers.  One piece and no bending in the middle.
