Pudding, Irish Apple
Sieve into basin:
- 250grams flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
add:
chop in roughly:
- 125 grams butter (must not be creamed or rubbed in)
Peel and slice the apples into the mixture.
Stir in one beaten egg and 150ml milk
This makes a stiff lumpy batter but this is correct..
If liked.. sprinkle top with cinnamon sugar.
Pour into a greased 20cm cake tin and bake about one hour. in med oven.
Can be served hot with custard or whipped cream or may be cut into slices and eaten cold (buttered if preferred)
(Apple can be replaced by rhubarb)
