
This is a cockroach.. we found a few of these in our unit.. also a can of fly spray so they were quickly dealt with.. but this one was the largest and it fell into my backpack bag which was between my feet in the front of the car.. guess he'd been hiding under the dash.. yuck.. there is a NZ 20c piece beside him to show size..

These are the sort of buses we were taken in for the tours we went on.. we did a progressive dinner for Jim's birthday on the Monday.. went to four houses where the hosts told us who they were.. very proud of their Norfolk Island heritage .. and a lot were descendants of Fletcher Christian.. also about their homes .. a lot were built with and lined with Norfolk Pine.. no gibraltar board and wallpaper..

No one seemed able to tell me the real name for this creeper.. this is the bud of the flower.. very large..about 6 inches across the flower ... the flower lasts about 3 days
