Interoffice Memo:

To: Sharon Ryan, Senior Court Reporter
From: Susan Petterson
Subject: Bail Hearing 182358 People v Boyle.

Message:

Morning, Sharon. As promised, here's the report you should have written, hope that night out last night was worth it!

Los Angeles Superior Court,
Dept. 23, Case No. 182,358
People v Nicholas R. Boyle
Transcript, 2nd Bail Hearing.

6 July 1993.

Hamilton J: Mr Boyle, This is your second opportunity to post bail in this matter. Have you been able to arrange your finances?

Boyle: No, Your Honor.

3rd Party: Your Honor, I would be willing to post bail for Mr. Boyle.

Hamilton J: And your name?

3rd Party: Hewitt, Your Honor. My law firm has been authorized to post bail on behalf of a Dr. Derek Rayne.

Hamilton J: Yes, my office has received your submission. Mr Boyle, any objections?

(The defendant remained silent.)

Very well then. On considering Dr Rayne's reputation in the community, I am releasing you into his custody until the trial, with the following restrictions:

One: You are to refrain from patronizing any public place, which has the primary function of serving alcoholic beverages.

Two: The court is imposing a curfew of 2200 hours, at which time, you are to be at Dr. Rayne's residence on Angel Island.

Court is adjourned.

End Transcript.

Sharon, what's the deal with this guy? He's pretty hot looking, which suggests to me that he would want to get out of a group cell as soon as possible. Yet when Hewitt offered bail, he looked less than thrilled. It looked like he would much rather return to the cell than go with this guy?? Spill. You owe me.

Sue.
