Merlin .... the Severe Macaw
better know as the infamous Mischief Merlin.....
Well here I am in my very first
picture ever taken of me.  Of
course I am the alert little fella
on the left.  And the other little
guy is my clutch mate the cry
baby.  Me .... I don't cry much.
Everything amuses me and I am
way too busy getting into stuff
to waste time whining .
This is my first picture on the day I
met my new Mom.  I was busy
showing off my wing colors.  I thought
she would prefer a bold macaw and I
was right. She did choose me!!!!
Our nursery at the breeders was very pretty.
Here I am again showing Sheri my very
beautiful wing colors.
And here I am with Jamie just flapping
and showing off again.  Jamie seems
like a nice enough guy.  I think he is
going to pick me too.
I know they can't take me home today cause I have another month or so to go
before I'm weaned and fledged but since they are taking lots of pictures I am sure
that they will come back for me when I'm ready for my new home.
Here I am with my play group
at the breeders.

Gotta check out what this
colorful toy is but I'll pause
for a minute to be nice and
alert for my picture.
Now it's time to check out
the stuff in this bowl.  We
still get our formula but we
are learning all about fresh
fruits and veggies and even
pellets. Corn on the cobb
is one of my favorites.
Well I was right and they did come
back for me on October 26th,1998.
I was just about 5 months old and
I had no intention of weaning
anytime soon so Sheri and Jamie
had to learn how to syringe feed me formula which I would demand till  I was 8 months old.
I was surprised to find that they had other birdies here when I got home. There was BJ a Blue crown conure,  Mozart a Yellow Nape Amazon and Perry the little parakeet.  I had
a huge cage - the big one on the right was mine.  I also had a swing and lots of new toys to
play with.
But wouldn't ya know
I'd rather be doing puzzles.

That's what Sheri likes to
do. It looks like fun but I
think I might just chew
up the pieces.
I decided my new pals could help me out. I have already taught them how to get off the playground and up on the sofa.

Hey BJ look for a nice colorful piece.
If we can't find where it goes we can
just chew it up.
Soon after I got here it was time
for Chrismas. Mom put a tree up
and I tried to climb it.  She didn't
like that too much.

We all got stockings with our names
on them. I don't know why but she
hung them on the fireplace where
I can't reach them.
This is our playground that Mom and Jamie built.  It's fun to hang out with the other
parrots here. I am a nice guy and very loving but BJ doesn't think so at all. I want to give her kisses and she does not want them.  So I grab her by the neck and hold her still with my big feet and give her lots and lots of kisses.  I am not hurting her but it's the only way I can get my kisses to her.  Mom says I shouldn't do that. But I don't really care. I have lots of kisses to give away. And I want BJ to have them.
Now it's Christmas Eve and Mom wants
to get a picture of me with Santa.

I'm too smart for that though. I know it's
just Jamie in a red suit and hat. I think
I can pull on this white fluffy stuff that's
hanging from his face.
