Time Turner
. . . fiction by Odyssea
. . .Interruptus. . .
It shouldn't have surprised Hermione that there were endless ways of interrupting people's lives in the wizarding world. She supposed it was due to being raised in the muggle world, where there were only two major ways of interrupting routine: knocking on the door or calling on the telephone. Fairly simple interruptions, that were fairly simple to ignore.
Now that she'd moved in with Harry, she was finding it not so simple. First, she spent two weeks hunting up an attractive yet opaque fire screen for the bedroom. Despite being the smartest witch of her age, she still couldn't find a way to block the Floo gate at their apartment. After being interrupted twice in the middle of compromising positions and being forced to endure sniggers and blushes at work, Hermione had to find a way to stop it. Since both of them had to be on call twenty-four hours a day for their work as Aurors, there was no way she could douse the fire at night.
So, she managed to find a really nice fire screen decorated with a tasteful hunting scene at a boot sale near her parents' house. That night, some situation arose in Oxfordshire necessitating an emergency call from the main office. Harry and Hermione were interrupted, but, thank heavens, had time to tidy up before removing the screen. At least this time Hermione could walk into work without blushing...though she was quite disappointed at being interrupted. Still, it was one annoying interruption conquered.
Now, if only she could do something about the bloody telephone.
