John Lund b1933

Background: After four years in the RAF, joined Marshalls in 1955 and retired in 2000, completing almost 45 years service. Worked on the service, maintenance, repair and modification of some 30 different types of aircraft for the RAF and foreign airforces, involving extensive overseas travel.. Most notable modifications being the major rework of a C130 (Hercules) for the Meteorological Research Flight and the modifications required to enable RAF C130's to be an effective influence in the Falklands. Most of his service was in a supervisory capacity, his final years as senior management ended as the General Manager of three hangers. Awarded the MBE in 1998 for services to the Aircraft Industry. -----John adds - All the above I found reasonably easy and stimulating - so why do I find it so hard to hit a stationary golf ball  with a finely crafted club.Ah! the dubious joys of retirement. It's lucky for me I chose a career in aerospace not golf otherwise I would have been dead long since from starvation, or institionalised in an asylum.

Contribution to Venerables: Treats. Fantastic bonhommie. Treats. Aghostly image on all group photos (see opposite). Treats. Despite what he says he shown tremendous potential - superb golf shots and some creditable rounds. His handicap does not reflect his capability. Treats - well known by those who have played within him - for those who have not, a pleasure in store.
