Urbane Alteration - My poetry

Urbane Alteration

Please don't say it too loud
I'm afraid my ears might weep
Please don't say it too proud
My foot has slipped in too deep
Go right ahead and shine like you always do
And please don't worry a bit about me
I'm trying my best not to get an attitude
It's just that now I've slipped up to my knee
Drowsiness has turned to a numbing deadness
Excuse me if I look unsound
It's getting harder to see, none the less
And so, I'm dreadfully sorry if, mentally, I'm not around.
