Ahhhh.......a homebrew like demo one second vertical
seismo. Super simple design. The spring is actually a typical
screen door spring. Oil damping dashpot. The boom is a "U"
shaped piece of metal that is fitted (and filed) into a "V" groove on the
mast. Only problem is the the mass has the magnet on the boom....but
its only for display. Coil/induction pickup sensor.

Trying to get an image of the pivot of the boom, mast,
but it didn't come out. The pivot area on the mast is machined into
a "V" slot, with the boom end being filed down to a point.
