Molded grating has historically been a hand lay-up composite of resin and continuous glass fiber strand that is thoroughly wetted out and woven through an open mold.    This method leads to a resinous composite which imparts good strength characteristics and high levels of corrosion resistance.   The general advantages of molded grating are:

Higher resin content for greater chemical and UV resistance

         Resin systems available:

o        General Purpose-Polyester

o        Isophthalic-Polyester

o        USDA Certified

o        Vinyl Ester

All standard composites are Class I flame retardants per ASTM E-84 testing - Data Available.

         Non-conductive

         Impact resistant

         Low thermal conductivity

         Permanent colors for low maintenance

Numerous patterns, panel sizes, and colors are available

Embedded grit or meniscus surfaces for slip resistance

The uniformity of depth in the embedded grit surface of CC-Grate brand fiberglass grating imparts an aggressive grit surface for slip resistance, and also adds wear resistance without reducing the glass content which helps limit  chipping of the grit surface.
