Slither
Slither is Dinozore's Guardian, a monitor
lizard. He can speak, like Luna or Artemis. He knows far more
about the pasts and futures of the Sailor Soldiers than they know
about themselves. Slither has had a claw in getting the Sailor
Soldiers and Dinozore to meet. He arranged to have Lita's boyfriend
dump her, so that she could be with her destined love, Nick, as
part of his Phases plan.. Slither also had a claw in having Dinozore
reveal himself to Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, and
Sailor Jupiter. It was Slither who realized that the Sickle Crystals
contained within a human and a bird were really Dinozore's Sickle-claw.
Slither is always watching, through the animals anyway. His plan
for reuniting Nick and Lita, expressed as a series of Phases,
was the cause of much trouble for Dinozore. Ken was a threat to
Slither's plan, or so he thought, and he declared open season
on Ken. This caused every animal that met Ken to attack him. This
caused no harm, until the open season affected Europa and Io.
They drove Ken out of Tokyo and wounded him, then told Slither
he'd "Never see Ken again." Slither was satisfied, and
called off the open season. Slither has a way of getting in the
middle of things, though. Slither is always ready to guide and
assist Dinozore, and usually has helpful info for him. Slither
HATES Sailor Uranus, and tries time and time again to kill her,
but Dinozore thwarts him every time. He's rather lazy by nature,
being a cold-blooded lizard and all. He also has the power of
suggestion, though he seldom uses it. He did use it to make the
Chiba family accept his presence, as well as Nick's, Squawky's,
Aaron's, and Kira's. Slither oftens uses his claws and fangs to
get the Sailor Soldiers out of a jam. He is very swift, but goes
into a torpor if exposed to a large amount of cold. Like all animals,
Slither can sense evil and reacts appropriately. He tends to be
rather emotionless, and reacts with apathy to a lot of issues.
Slither may seem like just a talking lizard on the surface, but
a sharp mind lies beneath. Like this page's header says, don't
judge a lizard by his scales.
Slither's "Phase" Plan:
Phase I; Operation Migration
This initial phase of Slither's plan.
The focus of this phase was getting Dinozore to leave his home
town in America to find his destiny. To do this, Slither had to
figure out why Nick hadn't left. The reason was that Nick had
a girlfriend, Katie. Slither caused Katie to become cold toward
him, and they broke up. His only reason for staying in the U.S.
gone, Nick took off eastward in search of his destiny. Thus ended
Phase I.
Phase II; Operation Breakup
Slither next turned his mental eye
towards Tokyo, and the reincarnated form of Sailor Jupiter, Lita
Kino. He found that Lita was already in a relationship, and as
Queen Serenity had told him to do, he destroyed it. He caused
Lita's old boyfriend ditch her, setting off a chain of events
that culminated with Amberite's apparent destruction at the claws
of Dinozore. The implementation of Phase II devastated Lita, but
Slither knew that it was for her own good. It was a long time
before Lita found out Slither's part in this, long after she and
Nick reunited. However, in watching Phase II come to fruition,
Slither found he had need of a third Phase, but that's another
story altogether...
Phase III; Operation Destroy
Slither saw Ken comfort Lita, and he
felt that Ken's destruction was neccessary. He called an open
season on Ken. All animals, be they mammals, birds, or reptiles,
attacked Ken whenever they saw him. Though he was worried about
why the animals kept atacking him, but he was in no real danger.
Zoo animals would try to attack him, and birds would swoop at
him, but no animal that could hurt him badly was running loose
in Tokyo. At first. Then Dinozore came to town. That, and Slither
found out where Ken was. He, Dinozore, Europa, and Io independantly
snuck up, intending to finish Ken off. However, Lita's sudden
arrival negated any possibility of that. Dinozore did manage to
make Ken's injuries worse, though, by sending Ken slamming into
the ground. Later, in the hospital, Nick flash-transformed into
Dinozore. When Sailor Jupiter was in trouble, Dinozore jumped
in front of her, and got badly wounded. Bleeding, he ran off into
the darkness. Slither later assigned Europa and Io to make sure
Ken became history. The rattlesnake and the eagle were unable
to finish the job, due to some unexpected difficulties. However,
Ken got very sick from Europa's venom, and he and his mother,
fearful they were being stalked (Well, what's the likelihood of
a wild Diamondback rattler, native to Texas, getting into a locked
house, biting someone, and leaving without a trace?) left Tokyo.
Slither, who misinterpreted Io's report as meaning Ken was dead,
called off the open season. Thus ended Phase III, for now...
