Name: Tendo Akane Age: 16 at beginning of series Series:Ranma 1/2 (Manga and Anime) About Akane: Akane is the youngest of her father's three daughters. She has two older sisters, Kasumi(19), and Nabiki(17). She and her sisters live alone with their father, because the mother died earlier(before the begining of the series). Akane is very tomboyish, disliking the male gender greatly, when under normal conditions. So when Jusenkyo Cursed Saotome Ranma came to fulfill their fathers' promise to be engaged to one of the sisters, she did not want to be the one chosen to marry him. But when the sisters discovered the curse, (When Ranma turns into a girl with a certain temperature of water), the two older sisters instantly nominated Akane to wed Ranma, because he was 'only half a man!' Akane displays a great amount of dislike for Ranma, though over time, she and Ranma grow very close, and even learn to love one another. Ranma likes to call Akane 'kawaikune' for a nickname, which means 'un-cute.' Akane's family owns the Tendo Anything Goes School for Martial Arts, (which Ranma has accidentally bet away to a cheating card shark a few times), which Ranma and Akane both train at. Due to her tomboyish nature, AKANE CANNOT COOK! Her cooking is comparable to C-ko(Siko) from the Project A-ko movie series, Aino Minako from Bishoujo Senshi Sera Mun, or Princess Aieka from the several Tenchi Muyo series'. If you've ever seen the results from either three's cooking, you'll know how terrible that they could be. ^_~ But don't tell her that her cooking sux, or she'll give you a black eye!

At one time, Akane had long hair, but it accidentally got cut off in a fight between Ranma and Ryouga.
