But, the geniuses at Yahoo decided to shut down GeoCities coming in Spring, in an effort to get people to subscribe to their Yahoo Web Hosting Service. Now granted, it's less than $10 a month to do so, but I just don't like the idea of it. Don't suddenly make a 'random' move with no real rational given reason to force me to pay for something I've been getting for free, just tell me you're losing money. You're a business, Yahoo, I'll understand. So did I sign up? Nope. You probably guessed that much by now. I immediately searched "free website hosting" and decided to move to Tripod. I don't care for all the ads (or the format of them), but hey, as long as this remains an "only-worked-on-in-my-very-limited-spare-time" project, I don't see reason to make it all polished and ad-free. It would be nice, but it just won't happen. Oh, and the 1GB monthly bandwidth limit is also a nice improvement.
