| Some people have thought and have said that I was incapable of feeling love. Many people also say that men's idea of love is a sexual relationship. If anybody were to prove this theory wrong, it would be me. I care deeply about this person not because of what she looks like, but, how she is. The kind of person she is, just everything else about her is enough. Sure I think she's pretty, but, to tell you the truth, if she were to offer any sexual intercourse or anything of that nature, I would respectfully decline. I also don't care what others say about her. I take happiness knowing for a fact that I like her for who she is. I don't care about what others think of her, or me, or how much I dote on her. I guess this poem also says love at first sight. I mean, if you consider it, and read it, and think carefully about it... I mean, adults say that love doesn't exist, but for me, ignorance is bliss. This poem is titled such because nobody believed I was capable of love. Also, "What Lies Beneath" was a horro movie and I didn't want the reader to think of the movie when each time they read the poem. |
