By customising a weapon it makes that weapon stronger in different ways. It will make a newly bought weapon feel as if you have used it for years. To customise weapons you need special stones to do so. Different stones possess different powers, these powers are shown below.
When customising you may combine 2 different types of stones together to gain both powers. You may not combine more than 2 different types of stones to customise. However you may use maximum of 3 of each stone to customise. For example if you wanted to customise a sword using rubies and crystals you are able to purchase 3 rubies and 3 crystals and combine them all together to form a stronger sword.
Its not compulsary to combine different stones, you may wish to stick to 1 stone. If you are not satisfied with a weapon and wish to change the stones, then you can sell them and get 1/2 of what you paid for them, however this could cost you alot of gil so be carful of what you customise.
When combining stones you shall get both of the effects from each stone added into 1 effect/ For example if you were to take 1 Ruby and 1 crystal to add to a sword, the result would be causing 5% extra damage of the sword attack you choose aswell as the attack itself, and your character would gain 5% of his own hp each turn.
