Hed Olaf Lars Larsson & Anna Larsdotter, Swedish immigrants
These two happy looking people are Olaf Lars Larsson Hedlund and his wife Anna Larsdotter.  They were both born in sen, lvdalen, Dalarna, Sweden.  Together with 4 of their children they emigrated to Stockholm Twp, MN in the year 1868.    Their first cabin was one room and built in the old swedish way, with square hewn logs.  Logs of this shape create a better seal between the logs to keep the cold out.  They later moved into a house.  When their son Lars married he needed a temporary home on his property while he was building his home.  Olaf and Anna's cabin was taken apart and moved to Lars' new property.  Before moving the structure they carved roman numberals into the end of each log, to make sure that it went back together nice & snug when they rebuilt the structure.  The cabin still stands, pictured below, and the roman numerals are still visible.  It is on what was the old Hedlund property, right in front of the home built by Lars.
