CHAPTER
13 : THE OSLO AGREEMENT FOLLOWED BY THE
SEPTEMBER 13, 1993, SIGNING IN
WASHINGTON
The September 13, 1993, signing of
the Arafat-Rabin agreement at the white house in Washington was supposed to
have been the first step on the road to a just peace in the Middle East. The
pact, which had been negotiated in Oslo, is not about a just peace between the
zionist state and the Arab people of Palestine. Although negotiated under the
pressure of the Palestinian intifada (before the intifada the zionist rulers of
Israel refused to talk to the Palestinians) the written agreement is vague
enough to allow the zionist rulers of Israel to get away with making very
little allowances for Palestinian rights ,and absolutely no redress for the
horrendous zionist crimes perpetrated over the years by zionist apartheid
regime of Israel against the Arab people of Palestine. But for the fanatical
zionists - who form the government in present day State of Israel - even that
pact included too many "concessions" for the Palestinians. The fanatical
zionists - and the differences between them and the other zionists are not
about principles but rather about practicalities - have always insisted on the inclusion of the entire area of
Palestine as the Land of Israel, and therefore no part of it should be
"given away" to the Palestinians. As is well known, when Rabin
refused to toe the line of the fanatical zionists, he was murdered by them in
early November, 1995.
The Oslo agreement and its implementation had been a growing source of
resentment among the fanatical zionists, particularly among the settlers of the
illegal zionist settlements which had
been established in the 1967 invaded areas of Palestine. Nowhere more so than
in the zionist settlement of Kiryat Arba, near the Arab town of Hebron, the
West Bank region of Palestine. That zionist settlement had become the centre of
zionist terror in occupied Palestine. Thus, on the morning of 25 February,
1994, some 30 Palestinian civilian worshippers were murdered at the Ibrahim
Mosque in Hebron by B.Goldstein, a zionist settler from Kiryat Arba. It was
mass murder in cold blood during Islam's holy Ramadan holiday. Yet the zionist
occupation army did not clamp down on the zionist settlers. Instead its troops
opened fire on Palestinian protesters, murdering another 30 of the Arab people
of Hebron. Under international law the State of Israel is responsible - absolutely
responsible - for any violation of Palestinian human rights in the occupied
lands of Palestine. Article 27 of the Fourth Geneva Convention stipulates for
the protection of civilians ("protected persons") under military
occupation as follows:
“Protected persons are entitled, in
all circumstances, to respect for their persons, their honour, their family
rights, their religious convictions and practices, and their manners and
customs. They shall at all times be humanely treated, and shall be protected
especially against all acts of violence... (Emphasis added).”
All of which leads to the
inevitable conclusion that the Hebron mass murders of Palestinians are war
crimes and crimes against humanity according to article 6 of the Nuremberg
Charter (of IMT), therefore, the rulers of Israel should be held accountable
and brought to justice. Yet no such thing has ever occured, and no sanctions of
any kind have ever been imposed against the zionist apartheid regime of Israel.
This failure of the international community to act has been seen by the zionist
rulers of Israel as a green light for further perpetration of war crimes
against the Arab people of Palestine, and perpetrate they did, and they still
do.
Earlier this year the USA rulers have bombarded and invaded Iraq - thereby perpetrating horrendous series of war crimes - to grab
its oil resources and to control the Middle East, and they now occupy Iraq. It
is all part of global strategy by the transnational corporations of ruling the
world. Therefore, the criminal apartheid regime of Israel fits very well into this picture. The only problem it
creates for the USA rulers is a problem of public relations, namely, how to
calm down the Arab masses of the Middle East who are enraged ,of course, by the
zionist crimes in occupied Palestine. Hence the talk about the "Road
Map" to peace which would lead to Palestinian self determination in 2005,
or would it ?
Interesting to note here that Jack
Straw, the British Foreign Minister, was quoted by the Israeli (zionist) daily
Haaretz on 26 March, 2003, as stating that the West was hypocritical not to
demand the same sort of adherence to UN Security Council resolutions for the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict as it does for Iraq (see Haaretz website
http://www.haaretzdaily.com of that date). There is no doubt the the zionist
State of Israel is a rogue state, and that its numerous violations of the UN
resolutions ( those of the Security Council as well as those of the General
Assembly) are the reasons for the conflict and for the suffering of the Arab
people of Palestine. If the West - the European Union included, of course -
would impose UN resolutions on the zionist apartheid regime of Israel, there
would be no need for peace plans etc. because there would be no conflict in
Palestine to worry about.
While it is true that the zionist
apartheid regime of Israel, and its zionist ghettos around the world, with
their huge propaganda machine and zionist lobbies, have a strong influence on
the newsmedia in the West, as well as on the politicians there, it is not the
zionists as such who are ruling the world. The transnational corporations, the
world's rulers, have supported ,and would continue to support the zionist
apartheid regime of Israel because it is in their best interests that the State
of Israel, their client state, would carry on with its criminal policies in the
Middle East, never mind the morality or the legality of its racist, fascist and
imperialist policies.
