A tale of life as an elothean trader in elanthia.
Traders~ I have a gripe!

Traders~

I know this doesn't apply to everyone of you, probably doesn't even apply to the majority of you but since my return I have witnessed several accounts of traders hollaring slandering remarks over the gweth at a thief they caught stealing from them.  To those guiltly of this, hear my thoughts.

Slandering an individual, whom you have caught stealing from you is very poor judgement and will likely leave you with a few problems.

First;  this action will usually provoke the thief.   Causing you more problems, including but not limited to: more theft, embarassment, pain, combat, death, the ever popular gwethsmashing; etc.

Second; DO NOT CARRY COINS YOU CAN NOT RISK LOSING!  Use the banks, deposit often, carry many smaller coins.  Protect yourself from the loss like any good merchant would.  You just embarrass the rest of us that are members of the guild.  When you catch a thief taking those small coins use the system.  Go to the guardhouse and REPORT the quick finger.  For a handful of bronze and copper, if they get caught they will be fined and they will get theres.

Third; No one cares you got robbed from. Not even your fellow Traders.  It happens to everyone, we learn to protect ourselves and we move on.  It is part of the life of Elanthia.  Deal with it like the rest of us.

To Everyone else~

I apologize on behalf of all the respectable Trader's amongst our guild.

I completely agree with you. Also, traders really need to train their perception past guild survival requirements. Right now a 30th circle trader can have as little as what, 50 ranks in perception? That's just not enough, folks. Break out those jugglies!
