The Mercer County 4-H Shooting Sports Program encourages 4-H members to become responsible, self-confident members of society. Through participation in this Shooting Sports Program we will encourage the development of self-confidence, personal character growth, life skills and safety through related activities. We will promote the highest level of safety, sportsmanship, self-discipline, sound decision making and concentration. In conjunction with, the exisisting safety programs, using certified instructors and educational materials we will encourage the total development of our 4-H members.
Objectives:
The Objective of the Mercer County 4-H Shooing Sports Program is to teach the safe, ethical and responsible use of a firearm. Our members will be taught moral values, sportsmanship, commitment and self-discipline throughtout the Air Rifle Program. Each 4-H member will develope leadership skills and learn to respect and promote safe conduct at shooting sports events. Getting kids on target and appreciate Shooting Sports as a lifetime recreation or career and have a positive experience in the Shooting Sports Program is the Prime Objective of The Mercer County 4-H Shooting Sports Program.
