           Mercer County 4-H Shooting Sports

ARITCLE I - Name

The name of this organization shall be the Mercer County 4-H Shooting Sports which will function and adopt the bylaws for a shooting club.

ARTICLE II - Purpose / Objective

Purpose of this Shooting Sports Program shall be:

     To encourage its 4-H members to become responsible, self-confident members of society. Through participation in this Shooting Sports Program we will encourage the development of self-confidence, personal character growth, life skills and safety through related activities. We will promote the highest level of safety, shortsmanship, self-discipline, sound decision making and concentration. In conjunction with the exsisting safety programs, using certified instructors and educational materials we will encourage the total development of our 4-H members.

Objective of this Shooting Sports Progrm shall be:

     To teach the safe, ethical and responsible use of a firearm. Our members will be taught moral values, sportsmanship, commitment and self-discipline throught the Shooting Sports Program. Each 4-H member will develop leadership skills and learn to respect and promote safe conduct at shooting sports events. Getting kids on target and appreciate Shooting Sports as a lifetime recreation or career and have a positive experience in the Shooting Ports Program is the Prime Objective of the Mercer County 4-H Shooting Sports Program.

ARTICLE III - Membership

      4-H Membership is open to all youth between the ages of 10-19 without regard to ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, or place of residence.

      Enrollment will be accepted all year round. Admittance to a specific discipline will be accepted only prior to the beginning of each new program.
