Mercedes nodded understanding the threat.She was more than just excited at what she was now , she had always wanted something different in her life , she knew she would not just practice the arts like the other women in her family that were "gifted", she would not be confined to a life of obedience as her mother was. She was now Lasombra,okay she wasn't sure what that was but she was now a vampyre and would give New Orleans something else to fear ..Her..she walked out the restaurant without a word,to say Mercedes was in high opinion of herself that night would have been an understatement, the Matre D tried to stop her tell her she had yet to pay she saw that Marie had all but vanished and just giggled, then seriously looked at the man and he just let go. Was it that he knew not too touch her ?, did the hunger show in her face or was it her will she had no intentions on paying after all she had not touched her food why did she have to? Mercedes left the building and walked to the streets she noticed a young woman walking down the street the womans' blood seemed to scream "Mercedes!!". Mercedes followed but not enough as to make the woman suspicious as the woman turned down Daphine street Mercedes made her move. The street was covered in shadows and darkness if she did this right the woman would never know what happened. She decided to get ahead of the woman and strike as the woman came close. Mercedes was unprepared as the the shadows themselves seemedto come alive to wrap themselves around her and aid her. The woman never saw Mercedes and Mercedes almost did not strike because she was positive the woman should have at least sensed her there, something anything.Mercedes stopped mid -tactic and leaned forward and asked the woman for a light, for some odd reason she wanted the woman to know what was going to happen. The woman jumped and Mercedes could feel the rush in adrenaline as the woman blood pumped faster at her being startled. |

She gave Mercedes a smile and look that said "Where the bloody hell did you come from?" instead from her lips came ,"Sorry I don't...and that was all that she got out before Mercedes moved in as if to kiss the woman but her head jerked to the side at the last moment and she went straight for the juggular vein, a small sound escaped the woman's lips and then total silence the woman's face went slack and and she grabbed Mercedes like a lost lover and leaned fully into the embrace.Mercedes smiled as she finished drinking from the woman she could hear the woman's heartbeat grow fainter as the lifeforce within the woman ebbed into her.Mercedes could feel her own skin beginning to warm.Once Mercedes had finished feeding and propped the lady over to the side by the building she looked up because she sensed Marie further up the street watching her and pleased. She saw a lone figure walking toward her, from this distance she could tell he was no ordinary human he had stopped and looked down to the woman and muttered "Mon Dour". Apparently she had beaten him to the prize , he was about to say something else when he turned and left uttering the words "Sabbat whore". Mercedes just shook it of maybe he had her confussed with someone else he knew? who cared she was majorly tired but had the energy to stay out all night ,Paige would love that, she was thinking she would test what Marie said about the sun when she heard a siren in the distance getting closer. Hmm well another night . |
