Plea to quash PG medical entrance exam results
By Our Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI MARCH 5. The Delhi High Court today issued notices to
the Union Government, All-India Institute of Medical Sciences
(AIIMS) and Delhi police on a petition by a group of MBBS
doctors of different States seeking quashing of the results of
this year's All-India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination
in which seven of the ten toppers belonged to the King George's
Medical College (KGMC), Lucknow, and the G.S. V.M. Medical
College, Kanpur.
The doctors alleged that the question papers were leaked for a
huge consideration well before the entrance test.
The petitioners, who had also taken the examination, alleged
that two days before the examination they had been approached by
unidentified persons offering solved question papers for Rs.
7,500 each.
The Union Health Minister, Dr. C.P. Thakur, had assured them
that all necessary action would be taken against the culprits.
However, the petitioner examinees, to their shock, found that
the papers contained all the questions shown to them by the
unidentified persons before the examination, the petition said.
