ALLAHABAD: In a significant order on Thursday, the
Allahabad High Court restrained the All India Institute of Medical
Sciences (AIIMS) from counselling students for post-graduate (PG)
medical courses, in the wake of reports of leakage of question papers of
All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE), held on
January 6.
Justice R R Yadav passed the order on a writ, filed by Ankit Mehrotra, a
resident of Shahjahanpur. The petitioner alleged that widespread leakage
and sale of question papers was detected prior to PG medical entrance
exams. Issuing notices to the AIIMS director and examination controller,
the court restrained the respondents from counselling of all the
students for a period of six weeks.
The petitioner said that he appeared in the AIIMS tests and has sought
relief from the court and hold fresh examinations.
