Saved by the Bell
Have you ever had a teacher who seems to have a lot of patience?
Then one day she up & yells at you? But you have no idea what exactly you've
done wrong, since it's another day just like the others.  A few students
talking here & there & of course your buddy right next to you is a talkative
temptation.  The English teacher up front discussing something primitive & not to your comprehending - like you care what she's saying anyway.  Silence
falls, then voice box's chatter away.  People whispering apprehensively about
the teacher's distress.  Then all of a sudden she jumps down our throats & tells
us to "Shut Up!" Yes - she told us in that way instead of the polite & appropriate 'Be Quiet'.  We're all shocked right down to our pinky toes.  Too
afraid to speak for fear of being humiliated by a scorned teacher.  Wanting to
discuss it but afraid of being caught in the damnable act. So we all pretend
to be working on something in stoned silence.  Hands visibly shaking for the
ones who can't control their own emotions.  Even too afraid to look at the
fuming teacher who bit our heads off.  The bell finally rings - breaking into our
silent thoughts - scaring the bejeesus out of me & you. Now we understand
the phrase
                          "Saved By The Bell".
