Drawing from diverse musical influences, the sound of B.F.E. is comprised of
monster grooves coupled with guitar tones that range from spanky-clean to
killer cut to crushing blows, punctuated by strong, melancholic vocals and
compelling lyrics. An in-house poll conducted at a local Dallas performance
described B.F.E. as a 'cross between Andy Timmons and King's X,' and The
Sound magazine said B.F.E. is hard-hitting rip-rock with a distinctive Texas
flavor."
This tight three-piece group consists of frontman Brett Flowers, who wields
his unique homemade guitar 'Whitey' like he was born with a guitar in his
hands; Rod 'Legz' Jansen, one of the area's most powerful seasoned drummers,
provides the thunder beneath Brett's wings and shares his distinctive voice
in harmony with Brett's leads; and Billy Pixley, the group's newest member,
groovin' the low end on bass as he once did with Nazareth's Manny Charlton.
In a setting that clearly showcases the considerable talents of these three
musicians, the members of B.F.E. have combined their skills to achieve what so
many have not... a distinctive style and sound that is instantly
recognizable, yet uniquely their own.
See them perform live at the DFW area's finest rock venues, including
FireWater Bar and Grill, Monte Carlos, the Galaxy Club, and the Hard Rock Cafe
Dallas. To date, B.F.E. has had the privilege to perform with bands such as
Seven Mary Three, Jerry Cantrell's Cardboard Vampyres, Little Green Men,
Foghat, Georgia Satellites, Buggs Henderson, Maylee Thomas, Aska, Lillian
Axe, Velvet Poker Dogs, Every Mother's Nightmare, Bloodroot, Robin Trower,
Rick Derringer and Pat Travers. B.F.E. is also active in performing for
several local festivals and benefits including the North Texas Rock Rally.
B.F.E. has also had three tunes featured in the soundtrack of the multi-award
winning indie film, 'Jimbo's A'Comin.'
