You showed up at the house
Walked right in through the door
I turned around quickly and saw you
Throwing pancake mix all over the floor.
I was surprised to see you
Didn't expect it after what happened the last time
You walked up to me and held me in your arms
And whispered so softly in my ear, please be mine.
My eyes swelled up with tears
My knees were so weak that I could barely stand
You picked me up and sat me on your lap
Interlocking your fingers with mine, hand in hand.
You told me that you missed me
And you couldn't make it through another day
You were tired of the loneliness that you felt inside
And you just wanted it all to go away.
You said that you never stopped loving me
You were just confused and wanted to hide
And when you said you didn't need me anymore
It was just a meaningless statement and that you had lied.
I sat there watching your lips move
Looking deep into your eyes
You kissed me lightly and held me close
Telling me that you wanted to take back your good-bye.
Inside I finally felt happy
No longer trapped in the deep blue
Kissing and hugging you, wanting to never let go
Finally, one of my wishes had come true.
Suddenly everything went black
It wasn't what it had seemed
Tears began to stream down my cheeks
For it was only a dream.
