Rayna Vitreum is an Time Lord, born on Gallifrey and graduated as a Prydonian, first serving the Rani along with a being called Fiona. After realizing the deviousness of the Rani's callous experiments, she blows the whistle on what the Rani is doing on a planet named Mantissa, and the efforts to fix the damage done result in a time explosion that creates a reality and ultimately a being called Trynia Merin.
For a time she traveled with the Doctor, and now works under the auspices of a special agent for the Madame President, Romanadvoratnatrelunder, former companion of the Doctor. She is in search of an anomaly known as the Phoenix Gate and has chased it through space and time... In so doing, this lost traveler had lived among the humans of earth.
