The Beginning Of His Life...
Leopoldo Jorge Mendez Alcayaga was born the 27. august 1975 in Chile. There he lived with his family. His father, Leopoldo Mendez Pastén, was an active polititian and after a few years he had to escape from Chile, in fair for his life. In 1986 his wife and kids came after him. They came at last to Sweden, were they lived a gypsy-life for a while, untill they sattled down in Farsta, south for Stockholm. Little Leo Mendez went to the Larsboda school in Farsta Strand. Already then he had big thought about himself. One day he told his teacher: 'I'll be on MTV some day, just so you know it, and that day you'll still be here teaching pupils in history, but I, I'll be on MTV!'. 'Yeah, yeah,' said his teacher, 'sitt down and shut up.' 'Amn't I allowed to dream, now then,' answer Leo. It wasn't, in that time, many who thought Leo ever would be famous or get any musicvideos on MTV.
Life As A Bad Boy...
Leo wasn't any nice quiet boy. He started after a while to hang out with a gang. It wasn't that smart. It happend a lot there that went over the border. Thing like unneccesery fight and break-ins. They wanted to be cool and show others that they were. Questions like: What happends if I steal that? Will I get caught? What happends is I take his girlfriend? Sometimes it went to far. Leo's parents wasn't specially happy. The police called them several times to say that they could pick up their son on the policestation. When the phone calls now, is it if Leo has won anything. But as he says: 'I don't wanna be a bad-boy.' You might think he is because of the tatoos and all the bad things he's done. But he don't want to be a bad example for his kids. Don't want to inspire to bad things. What saved Leo from the 'bad-boy'-life was, probably, love.
