Chapter 28 Anaheim Convention



Convention 2000 was held July 1- 5 in Anaheim,
one of the southeastern suburbs of Los Angeles.

The convention activities were housed at the Doubletree Inn.

There are many places of interest in Orange County.

Anaheim is the home of Disneyland.

The Anaheim Angels baseball team played the Seattle Mariners.
They had a good game for us - two homers!
And then there were fireworks.

Orange County's southwestern border is the Pacific Ocean
with such beaches as Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, and Huntington Beach.
The water temperature was quite pleasant and the beach not too crowded.

Many of us visited the fabled mission at San Juan Capistrano.

Several major shopping malls are in the area.
"The Block at Orange" was a popular destination.

The weather was glorious. Clear blue skies
with lows in the low 60s, highs in the low to mid 70s.

Many conventioneers flew in to John Wayne Airport.
It's a lot closer to the hotel than LAX

It was also possible to get to the convention by train.
