Flouresent Minerals Page!

Welcome to my page, which is devoted to floresent minerals.

If you do not know what a flouresent mineral is, hear it is .Luminescence is light that is emitted from a material when a electron is excited by some outside sorce. It also produces no heat from this process which the term "cold light" is derived. flouresence is when the outside force is ultraviolet light. So a flouresent mineral is a mineral (not the kind that you eat)that "glows" under a ultra violet light or known as "tube black lights".

Images of these wonderful minerals really doesn't do them justice, you must see one first hand to fully see them in all their splendor.I am just facinated with these minerals.I had never previosly known that they did this, but when I first saw some of them at a rock&gem show ,I thought they were soooo cool I bought all three of the specimens.

Here is a table with some fluoresent minerals.
