LEE BLAIR
(DIRECTOR) - Lee hails from the great Volunteer State...look it up, you
geography slackers! Lee received an M.F.A. from the University of Florida in
1995, did some dinner theatre in Florida, got his Equity card
and got the hell outta Dixie. After his southern exodus, Lee has worked in
regional and off-off Broadway productions. Since moving to NYC a few years ago,
he has appeared as "background" in many of the top-rated television series and
major motion pictures shot in the great city of Gotham. Lee'd be more than glad
to come over to your house anytime or go to a cineplex near you, sit by the
television or in comfy theatre seat with its
convenient cup holder, point at the screen and say, "There I am walking in
front of Ben Affleck! Oh! There I am again!"
As an actor, Lee has been stereotyped continually as "the bald funny guy",
but as a director...well, he's still the bald funny guy. "MAPBILP"(think
about it) is Lee's first NYC directing extravaganza! Past directing credits
include "All In The Timing" (with T.D. Bearden), "The Odd Couple", "A! My
Name Is Alice"(with I.Wooden), and "I Do! I Do!". His directing style is
influence by the masters. He encourages his actors with ideas, tenets and
motivational phrases such as "Ah...I liked what you did yesterday; do it like
that" or "It's just NOT FUNNY anymore" or "Do I have to get my belt!"
or "Don't make me stop this car!".
All kidding aside, it's a pleasure to work with the two extremely talented
actresses who are also two old and dear friends...I mean, they are old, ok?
Really old. But what a joy to direct and guide two great performers
entering their fifth decades of performing! I feel just like David Gest. God
bless you, Tanza and Tracie Diane!
