Menarchy Manifesto
I Manifest that womyn have been taken advantage of by the so-called ‘feminine hygiene’ machine since its inception in the early 1900's. Tampon manufacturers have constructed a demand for a product that has been known to be harmful to womyn’s bodies for years. They have charged womyn an inordinate amount of money for a product most womyn deem as ‘necessary.’ By instilling in womyn the belief that their menstrual blood is ‘dirty,’ they have created a disposable mindset where an average womon uses and trashes 10,000 to 15,000 tampons and pads in her lifetime. For centuries womyn bled without shoving bleached paper products inside their bodies. It is my hope that this website helps raise the collective consciousness about the dangers of tampon use, tools to help bring that about, as well as providing real alternatives for womyn.
