| BOOKING CONDITIONS: for Kilimanjaro National Park
1. Tanzania National Park (TANAPA) will only deal with
properly registered Tour companies that have a current/valid TALA licenses
- Operators to send particulars of their staff, including
photographs, involved in the bookings.
- Operators must submit their copies of current TALA license.
2. All Mountain climbing routes (namely Marangu,
Nalemoru, Shira, Machame and Umbwe) will effective from 1st July, 1998 onwards, be booked for any climbing party at least one Month
prior to the date of climbing.
3. Reservation for a period of up to 12 months will be
accepted if there is a space in the huts or campsites. No reservation exceeding 12 calendar months will the Park maintain accepted/.

Reservation between 6 – 12 Months will initially be maintained without any payment, but at six (6) month before climb date deposits payment
will be due immediately. The operators will have to maintain records to this effect as the park may reverse the reservation 7 days after the
deposits payment due date and re-allocate to others.
5. For all reservation held within six month of climb date i.e. less than 6 month, they will be held only for seven
days pending full deposits payment at the prescribed rate. For
- Non-compliance of the condition, re-allocation of the
spaces will then be made to others who have clients.
6. Once deposits payment is made within seven days, the
reservation then becomes a confirmed booking, As it will be supported by the issuance of a deposit cash sale or which shows amount paid,
proposed date of climb, etc.
7. Operator wishing to pay their deposits straights
away without waiting for the elapse of seven days can do so provided there is space available for them.
8. All bookings are to be supported by serially
numbered vouchers in duplicate originating from the real operator/company making that particular booking. Such voucher must carry official
stamp, Name and signature of a duly approved official of the company.
9. Voucher transfers between one Tour operators and
another or between a Tour Operator and an individual will be regarded as illegal transaction, which can which can be reported to relevant
authorities for appropriate action.
10. Deposit rate for booking confirmation will be
reviewed from the current USD 30 per each person booked, to 30% of the total fees payable at the beginning of the climb for the total pax
booked. Citizen’s fee rates are not interchangeable with non-citizen fee rates.

Deposits for booking confirmation narrated above (Nos.4 – 10) once paid are not refundable under any circumstances, but climbing dates may be
subjected to amendment. The deposit is charged / paid to affirm operators/Individual commitment, eliminate rampant, Block bookings and to
improve park’s revenue collection by fully utilizing available space/bunks in the huts and campsites (Applicable to all routes).
12. Bookings Amendments:
- May be accepted only if more than 14 days before climbing.
- Can only be allowed once, but if there is document evidence, the park may
review individual cases, and subject to space availability on requested dates.
13. For “NO SHOWS” or “NO TURN-UP” their deposits will be forfeit (even
this moves leaves the park at great loss)
14. Cancellations: Once a confirmed booking is cancelled the deposits
payment made is automatically forfeited.
15. KINAPA will allow only this number to climb on each
route per day:
- Marangu Route 80 pax only
- Machame, Shira, Umbwe, Lemosho, Rongai 60 pax only
- Mweka route is only for descending.
