bar-b-que as well as the true southern cooking as well as the entertainment that any
-one that comes here can't help but feel when they sit on the banks of the Mississippi River.Every year during the month of May,Memphis salutes a different country and it's cultures,and has people from near and afar to challenge for the best barbeque and at the same time watch and listen to the famous stars that come to perform at this gala.also every year in August many people come to Memphis to pay respects to Elvis Presley and visit his home......Graceland, 60,000 Elvis fans visit annually every year and tour Memphis and tour inside his home here,and see alotof his personal,artifacts and costumes he wore in his stage shows or in movies he made in Hollywood.
Also you can visit the Famous Sun Recording Studio,and see where it all began,not just for Elvis but for alot of other famous singers,such as Rockabilly artist Jerry Lee Lewis,Charlie Rich,Johnny Cash,Carl Perkins.you can also visit the Blvd.and see the sign named after the city's most Famous Son,Elvis Presley. Many famous actors,singers and
polictical leaders,when they visit, to give a speech or perform have said ,"You can't go to Memphis without seeing Graceland,or taste the barbeque".so if you are driving through,or perhaps or on your way to the local casinos,STOP!! and soak in some of the southern atmosphere,and meet some of the fine people here or you can cruise down the river on a riverboat, or just sit on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi and look at the bridge lit to not to just show the first letter of the town,but to show in it's own way,the first letter of what made it famous....... Music,Mystery,Magic,but Most of all...........................
