Come and socialize at this nice little park in Germantown. You can fish at the 3-acre lake, play Frisbee, hike around the park or just hangout solving the freethought challenges of the Midsouth. There are no official trails, but the park is situated close to the Wolf River so some exploration may be possible.
When:
Saturday, June 2, 2007, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm We will be meeting at the pavilion.
Eats:
Please bring a food/drink item or a money donation. MFA will be providing any food that is not volunteered so let Preston ([email protected], 484-4750) know if you are attending and what you will be bringing as soon as you can. Cutoff for potluck food donations will be on May 31st as to give us time to coordinate the menu and to purchase extra food.
To bring or not to bring:
The pavilion and picnic areas are well shaded, but you should bring bug repellant and sunscreen for fishing or hiking. Feel free to bring Frisbees, balls, croquet, horseshoes, lawn darts (no, just kidding!) or any other outdoor frolicking accessories. Alcohol is not allowed at the park, but children and friends are. Bring �em if you got �em!
Directions:
From the West or South (i.e. Memphis) 1) Go East on Poplar to Germantown Pkwy.- turn left 2) Go North on Germantown Pkwy. for about � mile to Farmington Blvd.- turn right (called �Farmington� to the east; called �West Street� to the west) 3) Go East on Farmington, past Kimbrough, past Allenby, to the park. It will be about a � mile past Allenby on the left 8629 Farmington Blvd.
From the North (i.e. Cordova, Bartlett) 1) Go South on Germantown Pkwy., past Wolf River Blvd., about 1 mile, to Farmington- turn left 2) Go East on Farmington, past Kimbrough, past Allenby, to the park. It will be about a � mile past Allenby on the left 8629 Farmington Blvd.
