Here is a brilliant story from medieval Spain, but  originally  maybe from an Arab country.

A blind man went from town to town asking for food and money.  He was accompanied by a boy who helped him find his way.  The two lived in extreme poverty.  One day, as they had received some grapes, the blind man said to the boy:

You always  get more than  I.  This time  you will take only two berries a time, and Ill do the same:  two by two, no more.

They sat down to eat.  There was silence for a time, and suddenly the blind man shouted:  You rascal!  You thief!  You are picking more than two at a time!

How did he know?
