***** What Would You
Do?*****
As a family
gathers around the christmas tree to open gifts, the father finds one last
gift. It was by far the most beautiful and the most expensive wrapping
paper the family had purchased this christmas. It had on it the nicest
bow and the most beautiful name tag as well. As the father looked at the
name tag he saw that it was for him from hi little five year old daughter.
And as he tore into the package with excitement, he noticed that even the
box was a step above the rest. When he got the lid off of the box he noticed
that the box seemed to be empty. This made the dad rage with anger towards
the child. He began to chastise the little girl for wasting such beautiful
and expensive gift wrapping for an empty box. The little girl looked up
at her dad filled with confusion and disbelief at the actions of her father,
with tear filled eyes she softly said "Daddy, that box wasn't empty. That
box was filled with kisses that I blew in there especially for you." Hearing
this, the father began to weep and picking his little girl up in his arms,
he begged for her forgiveness.
To the child the
box was filled with expressions
of love for her
daddy.
Sometimes we look
at our own situations in life
and like the father
we look at the bible like it is
meaningless and
empty, like the box,
When we need to
look at it through the eyes of a child
and see that it
is filled with good and wonderful things.
And all we have
to do is accept it by faith from God our Father. |
