| Desert Moon Middle Eastern Dance | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Desert Moon dance classes were first organized in 1998 by our founder, Vierna. Our first performance as a troupe was at the Arts for All Festival in 1999. Two nervous ladies performed that fateful day- Vierna and Aminah. Since that wonderful day, the troupe ahs received numerous invitations to perform at Arts for All festivals, International Festivals, S.O.D.A.'s Nutcracker, S.O.D.A's Choreographer's Showcase, the Wichita Falls' Trade/Business Show and Festival of Color. In 2002 Vierna was called away to Germany and Aminah became director/instructor. Several Desert Moon troupe members have had the honor of performing in numerous belly-dance shows and wokshops in Oklahoma City hosted by AALIM Dance Stuidos. Troupe members have also performed at the Bohemian Tribe workshop/show in Norman, OK. March 2003 saw Aminah summed to Oklahoma City to be recognized by her peers as one fo the top 5 Middle Eastern Dance instructors in the State. In Jan. 2005, Aminah competed in the International Dance Challenge regional semi-finals held in Midwest City. SHe received a Sterling Silver award for her performance. Troupe members have performed in several local businesses over the years to include Forgotten Works coffee house, Legal Lounge coffee/hookah bar, and El Greco Greek restaurant. |

| Darkly Divine Tribal Fusion Dance Co. based in Lawton and Duncan, Oklahoma performs tribal fusion bellydance, and American tribal style bellydance. Darkly Divine draws from the ancient dances of the Middle East, Africa and India. Interpreting and infusing their love of these dance forms with swords, fire, urban and modern dance influences, even a theatrical vaudevillian flare while keeping a solid base in their bellydance roots. Darkly Divine isn't afraid to have some fun with their performances! Darkly Divine has performed many times in both Oklahoma and Texas over the years, including stage shows at both YaHalla Ya'll and 3rd Coast Tribal, and Lawton's Arts for All Festival. Darkly Divine also performs with their student troupe Raksat. Darkly Divine and their student troupe Raksat are directed and taught by Stephanie Jordan and Heather Grider. |

| The Tribal Stars of the Aalim Studios of Oklahoma City is a bellydance troupe specializing in the tribal fusion style, a dance that blends traditional Arabic moves with the dances of Africa, South America and modern American. A popular bellydance style in America, the Tribal Stars have performed in Oklahoma, Texas and Mississippi and have danced with and shared the stage with The Bellydance Superstars numerous times. | Natanasuta was established in 1998 by director Delphina Masri as an answer to the dance community for a dance troupe that truly embraced the concept of Middle Eastern dance being for everyone no matter their body type, age, or physical abilities. The troupe has grown from the founding 4 to a core group of 12 dancers with many more who are proud to say they belong to the troupe. Natanasuta calls Everything Goes Dance Studio under the direction of Shannon Calderon their home and have been a highlight in all the studios spring and holiday recitals. In addition the troupe has danced at the 16th Street Fall Festival, and Midsummer Festival- Norman, they have been guest dancers at Scarlet Faire, Medival Faire- Norman and the Castle at Muskogee in addition to being the Featured Dancers at International Festival- Lawton, and The Shawnee Medieval Summer Faire. Natanasuta specializes in demonstrations at Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Schools, and Juvenile Facilities hoping to bring understanding of the dance and Middle Eastern culture to everyone who is interested. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
