Rosie Cotton was born in TA 2984 to Tolman "Tom" Cotton and Lily Brown. She grew up in Hobbiton with her brothers; Tolman, Wilcome, Bowman, and Carl, and her friend and future husband, Samwise Gamgee.
On September 3rd, TA 3018, Sam and Mr.Frodo left the Shire on their journey to Mt.Doom. Rosie became very sad and distraught after Sam's departure, but she continued to hope that he would return one day, despite hearng the rumour that he was dead.
When Sam and Mr.Frodo returned, to the amazement of all. They stayed in Rosie's house until the Battle at Bywater where Saruman was killed. Then Rosie and Sam were married on TA May 1st, 3020.
Together they lived a long, happy, blissful marriage in Hobbiton. After Mr.Frodo went across the Sea to the Undying Lands Rosie and Sam moved into Bag End where Sam continued his story in the Red Book. There Rosie bore thirteen children. Their 62 year marriage came to end with the death of Rosie on Midyears Day FO 61 at the age of 93.
Upon her death Sam left Bag End, and went across the Sea to the Undying Lands, so that he might once again see Mr.Frodo and Bilbo.
