Welcome to my website. After being so inspired by the wonderful people on the Weight Watchers 100+ Board, I decided to create my own website to chronicle my journey to good health and fitness. 

Like many people, I have battled my weight (mostly losing the battle) for my entire life. Now, I changing my outlook, actions, and my life.

My Journey:
2002 was a year of great change for me. After nine years, I left my employer for a bigger and better job. I moved from Pottstown, Pennsylvania to  Ewing, New Jersey.  Discovered the joys and heartaches of becoming a new homeowner. Began a Masters of Professional Communications program at La Salle University. In 2003, I continued on my journey...with even more challenges and exciting changes to encounter.

2004 has been a year of amazing blessings, on my 33rd birthday I got engaged to the man of my dreams and the next day was approved for special work clearance in England. Now, I'm planning a wedding, getting the house ready to sell, preparing to move, and trying to find a job. WOW!

This is all part of my "5 Stage Plan for Life".
Stage 1:  Take the next career step
Stage 2:  Become a homeowner
Stage 3:  Maintain a healthy lifestyle (started WW 10/02))
Stage 4:  Get my Master's Degree (in progress)
Stage 5:   Fall in love and live happily ever after 

As of June 1, 2004, I have lost 94.7 lbs.

October 8, 2003: 1 Year OP!!!

52              10/25/2003     -7.1                Introduced jogging.  Did 17 mi in 4 days. WOW.

Oops...life got in the way. Matt came to visit at Thanksgiving. I had successful heart surgery in December and then spent 12 days in England around the holidays. Net result: +10 lbs. UGH! So, on Monday January 12, I started Fast Track. My 1 wk results are -5 lbs. Since it's a new year, I thought I'd change things up a bit. Here's my new log format. 231.0          01/26/2004       -4.8               Wk 2 of FT was pretty routine. Went over pts     on one day, but didn't beat myself up about it. Found it's very hard to go to a restaurant and maintain a 20pt max. Holiday gain is HISTORY!!!

229.8         02/02/2004        -1.2                Wow. I can't believe I'm finally out of the 230s! This wk was tough...business travel, eating out, etc. But, I still managed to shave off another 1.2 lbs. Only 11.3 to go to the 100 lb mark. This week I have to focus on exercising. I've gotten complacent there. Only jogged 2x last week.



228.0        02/09/2004         -1.8                OMG!  90.5 lbs are HISTORY!  I probably won't hit 100 by 2/27, but I am definitely on the right track. Holy Cow!!! This week was a bit better in the exercise department. Jogged 3x, but for longer durations and did crunches up the whazoo.  Fit into my bridesmaid's dress from Sarah's wedding...last time I was at 229. A bit dismaying to see how some things have shifted in the past 6 yrs, but I guess that's the way life goes.

227.4         02/16/2004         -0.6               Doesn't that suck!?!  Text book OP this week and not much to show for it. It's like my body KNOWS that it is inching towards the big century mark and is rebelling. Oh well. I will just have to get there when I get there and not try to rush things (ie...starvation....old habits die hard).  In other news...I had my post op visit to the heart surgeon today. And...I'M CURED!!!!!  Apparently when atrial fib is gone, it's gone for good. So, I am NORMAL!  No lonanger am I a heart patient. I don't have to wear monitors, take drugs, be the youngest person in the waiting room (by 30 years), etc.After 8 years, 4 surgeries, and general hassle...IT'S OVER.  I really can't adequately explain how amazing this feels.  Whoo Hoo! just doesn't come close to covering it.

224.8         02/23/2004        -2.7            93.7 total. Wow!  I ate my 28 pt target each day. Jogged 30 min/4 days. And did some crunches here and there. End result...I'm thinner than at any point in my adult life (except for 3-4 mo period in college) and yesterday I wore my size 14W Ralph Lauren Jeans. They run big, but the tag says 14, so I'm rolling w/ it!

226.4         05/25/2004         -5.6           92.3 total. As you can see, life got in the way again. I've been traveling every week for work, had school stress, blah blah blah.  Anyway...Matt proposed on 5/17 and there's nothing like a wedding to get a girl back on track. So, I now have about 6 months to get to goal. 50 lbs! It's an aggressive goal, I've been overweight for every major (and minor) event in my life. I'll be damned if I'll be overweight on my wedding day (3/18/2005)! So, hard core WW/exercise...here we go!

223.8          06/01/2004        -2.4          94.7 total. I've descended to new LOWS!  Only 48.8 lbs til goal. Wedding dress shopping on Saturday kept me motivated. I have no desire to look like a giant white marshmallow on my wedding day!  So, just call me the OP poster child, b/c I am 100% on track, focused, and determined!
