Kevin hung his head low, as tears came to his eyes. Brian looked at Kevin, his eyes full of wonder and concern."Kevin?" Brian asked,reaching his hand,grasping tightly onto Kevin's shaky hand. tightly. "T..their um...um..n..not here." He spoke quickly, hoping Brian wouldn't understand. But he did, Brian's eyes went wide,"W..what do you mean their not here? Where are they?" Brian questioned. Kevin shook his head, no..he couldn't tell him, how could he tell him that his bestfriend gave up on him?"Kevin?Where are they?" He questioned once again,his voice louder. Kevin turned his head away, taking a deep breath.,"Nick just needed a breather, and after awhile, A.J and Howie went to go find him" His voice was above a whisper, tears falling from his eyes. "How long have they been gone?" Brian questioned.Kevin shut his eyes tightly, as he took a deep breath,"Nicks been gone, about seven hours, and A.J and Howie have been gone about four hours." He said, as his head turned from Brian, afraid to look at him. Brian shut his eyes tightly, pain ran through his heart.His breathing became hard"W...why have they been gone so long, what's wrong with Nick?" Brian said, knowing that something was deeply wrong.
Kevin shook his head,"Nothing,why?" Kevin lied. Brian looked at him,seeing right through his lie. "You're lying to me"Brian stated. "No I'm not," Kevin insisted. Brian looked him right in the eye, "I know something's wrong Kev, why don't you just tell me...please," Brian pleaded with his cousin. "How do I tell you?" Kevin said as tears fell endlessly from his eyes. Brian tightened his grip on Kevin's hand. "Why don't you start with the truth?"Brian said. Kevin met Brian's eyes,"How do I tell my cousin that his BESTFRIEND gave up on him,huh?How could I possibly explain that?"Kevin said. "What?"Brian said. Kevin stood up, anger growing inside him. He pushed back the chair,"You heard me, yea, your wonderful bestfriend just walked out of here, and gave up on you...what did he say...let me think, oh yes I think it was something like :Why Kevin,why go see him,you know what the stupid doctor said,he's just going to die anyway,what's the point."Keivn screamed,his anger at Nick finally releasing from his body. The pain that shot through Brian's heart grew intense.He laid back on the bed, shutting his eyes tighlty, the tears falling from his eyes, not from the pain of his heart, but the pain of what his bestfriend had said. His heart pounded frantically, as he gasped for breath. "K..Kevin?G...get the d...doctor"Brian tried to catch his breath. Kevin quickly pressed the button for the nurses station. Brian then let out a scream of pain.
