If Tomorrow Never Comes

Kevins head hung low, as the tears fell from his eyes. He walked through the hospital doors. His head rose up, as he looked at the surroudings. His trembling hands were tucked tightly in the pocket of his jeans.His lips trembled as tears fell freely from his bright green eyes. After minutes of still standing, he turned, and ran. Ran as fast as he could, loud sobbs, screams coming from the boys mouth. People stared at him, as his screams became louder.  He ran faster. From a distance he saw a field of grass. His heart pounded frantically, as tears fell from his eyes. He ran faster, he finally came to the field. He ran faster, through the thick grass,running till he collapsed. He screamed out. His shoulders shook with every sobb. He looked through his tears, his eyes scearched the clear blue sky. He hugged his small body, burying his head in his lap, and wept. He wept for the man, that meant everything to him. The man he looked up to all eight years of his life. The man he wanted to be just like. The man--his father.
