WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!

Congratulations to all five teams that made it to the Grand Final, and congratulations to the three teams that won!!
The day started off for Buln Buln with the Fourths. This was a low scoring, tough contest, and unfortunately Longwarry (undefeated all year) won. A brilliant effort by Buln Buln though.
Final scores were:
BULN BULN 1-3-9 lost to Longwarry 3-4-22
Best players were: Jake Downie, Simon Dawson, Brad Osler, DJ Dardha.

Next cab off the rank was the thirds. They started off well, scoring the only goal scored for the first quarter. Which was an amazing goal kicked out of the air by Matt Gray, just before quarter time. From then on Buln was pretty much in control of the game, running out winners by four goals, and becoming 2001 Premiers and Champions.

The next game to start was C Grade netball, and the girls were coming into this game with confidence, after beating Nilma Darnum in the Semi-final by just one goal. It was always going to be a tough encounter, but Buln Buln held on to win a close game. An excellent effort to the girls who sat second behind Nilma Darnum on the ladder all year. Congratulations to Buln Buln C grade on becoming 2001 premiers!
Final scores were: BULN BULN 37 defeated Nilma Darnum 34
C Grade awards were:
Glass award: Angie Dawson, who played an excellent game in centre.
Sock award: Paula Williams, who shot well all game in goal attack.

Whilst C grade was on, the Reserves was also starting. Buln led at the first change, but then Ellinbank held Buln scoreless in the second quarter. Ellinbank leading by 4 points at half time. In the third quarter, Buln added two goals to Ellinbanks one, and in a low scoring game, Buln led at three quarter time by only 4 points. In the last, Ellinbank came out firing, and snatched the win from Buln in an upset. (An unpaid mark in the Buln goal square just before the siren adding to Buln Buln's heartbreak).

Best players: Ian Downie, Corey Jagoe, Joh Tyrrell, Paul Pratt, Chris Bridger.

The last game, and the most important game of the day was the Seniors. Buln Buln did not know what to expect from Lang Lang. Lang Lang started the game of promisingly, kicking the first two goals of the game. The Lang Lang fans were out in their numbers, and were very loud, but they had nothing on the Buln Buln crowd! Buln took control of the game, about half way through the first quarter, and didn't look back. Buln shared the ball around, and had a total of 9 goal kickers in the end. In a fantastic team effort, Buln Buln became 2001 Premiers, thrashing the tigers by a huge Grand Final margin of 59 points! Well done guys!
