Fairies: In the bogy and wooded areas, it is believed that 3-inch  creatures sing and dance.  If your paths cross, these creatures may cause you some trouble.  So, you better take some precautions!

Curing Warts
Some people in Melrose have the abiltiy to cure warts without the use of any modern medicines.

These people will tell you that one way to cure a wart is to simply by"not thinking about it".  If you look at your wart and then you stop thinking about it--the wart will just disapear!
How to Escape a Fairy
There are numberous tales of fairies living in the forests and bogs of Newfoundland.  Would you believe that Melrose also has a rich oral tradtiion all about Fairies?

If you get caught in the spell of a fairy, one way to lose this fariy is to find a tree or tree stump and walk around it.  The fairy will quickly lose you!

Folklore includes: Jokes, children's games, Fairy Tales, art, archeitecture, Proverbs, Riddles, slang, superstitions...and so on.
