As you continue your tour with Wigley and Quigley, you notice that you’re walking along a road that is long, and dark, and covered with creepy shadows, surrounded by ancient trees. You are about to ask Quigley where the next stop on your tour will be, when the yummiest scent you’ve ever smelled creeps through the crisp air and up to your nose. “What is that smell?” you ask your ghost hosts. Wigley and Quigley tell you that the smell is coming from the home of Melvina Q. Spells. “Is that the same witch that adopted Toothy?” you ask. She is the very same witch, you learn.
The road you are walking along suddenly splits into two, and one path leads to an obviously haunted house in which every light is burning. From the road you can make out the vague outlines of the now familiar spooks and haunts, along with one very silly pumpkin.

As you approach the house, you can pick out the smells of candied apples, cider, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin bread, various candies and chocolate chip cookies.

You enter the front door to see tables and tables of delicious treats along with what appears to be EVERY citizen of Spooksville. Melvina leads you to a creaky antique chair with a high cushy back, and you gratefully sit, wearied from your long walk. As soon as you seat yourself, a cute black cat who Melvina calls Shadow, hops up into your lap.

As you pet Shadow, you notice for the first time that music is blaring from the ballroom of Melvina’s home. The party guests have moved into the ballroom for a Spooktacular dance.
Carrying Shadow, you peek into the ballroom to see mummies and pirates, ghosts (including Wigley and Quigley), witches, bats, monsters, vampires, faeries, giant walking pumpkins, and dozens of other critters boogying down.

After a few more dances, Melvina, Wigley and Quigley quietly approach you to tell you that it is almost dawn, and that you must soon leave. The mayor hears what your three friends have said, and he gathers every spook’s attention one last time. Mayor Frank N. Stein presents you with a skeleton key to the town of Spooksville, and extends to you a standing invitation to return to Spooksville when the moon shines just so, and the wind blows just right and the door is opened on Halloween night…
