On Saturday morning, I woke up, got dressed and took off on my bike for a little adventure -- even before my first cup of coffee. My adventure actually began at the coffee shop where I got a double mint mocha for energy..this is the view from a bridge on the bike trail facing west (Moffatt Field to the right).
James Kerouac wrote about his big adventure "On the Road." Here's my little adventure -- on my bike. I traveled down the Stevens Creek Trail towards the baylands on a blustery Saturday morning with the threat of rain in the air...Fortunately, it never actually rained while I was on the bike ride. This is one of my favorite parts of the Steven Creek trail which stretches for miles and miles and takes you through woods alongside Stevens Creek through Mountain View, across a huge sky bridge and several smaller bridges above creeks, then to the baylands. This part of the path is cool because you feel as if you're gliding right into the water, yet the road turns. At one point, water is ahead of you and along both sides of you.
The Path of Life can lead us in many different directions....
Riding alongside the bay..
If you look closely at this hillside, you'll see the Canada Geese!
Looking out on the SF Bay...If you look closely, you can see the various ducks and birds floating in the water -- here it was silent except for the sounds of birds and occasional honking of geese...and sometimes the rustling of the bushes. If you listen closely enough, you can "hear" the water.
.On the way back, I managed to get a picture of this beautiful white egret (related to the crane) (right, in the creek). There were actually two of them, but one flew away and is hiding close by.
Even marshy baylands can be beautiful...
