While a college sophmore Mike was simultaneously on Academic & Social Probation (he graduated).  This from someone who in Jr. High was voted the most responsible student in school (he used this on his resume for club treasurer).
Mike races to justify all the time spent on the bike training.  He figures he'd be sleeping a lot more  if it weren't for the bike.  He does more indoor miles than anyone on the team, usually watching MTV's 'The Real World" or American Idol.

Five races which define Mike's cycling "career".
1.  Cat's Hill Crit - Los Gatos, CA:  First real race...Got dropped, lapped and pulled.  Coughed up a lung for about four hours after the aborted effort.  Learned that racing was not as easy as it appeared.  Realized that training is required.
2.  Malboro Circuit Race, 1999:  Second place.  Realized that it pays to take chances.
3. Last year of the
Killington Stage Race
My first and only (knock on wood) high speed crash.  Realized that crashing is bad.
4.  GMSR 2001: Team leader won the prologue and eventually overall.  Realized that being a domestique can be grand.
5.  Ninigret Training Race 2004:  In a huge field of 15 (four OSVC), three of us lapped the field and I won the low speed sprint to the finish for glory.
Favorite Rock Band:  Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble
Favorite Movie:  Sense and Sensability - Two things I don't have, but chicks dig it.
