Even though it was 4 weeks before I was due,
Mom had been feeling antsy and thinking I would come any day now. Monday night, she was adamant about
getting the car seat ready and Dad told her that they had another month. On Tuesday, Mom took Colin for his 18 month checkup. She was having slight contractions and
didn't feel all that well. She decided it was because their air conditioning was broken and it was rather warm.
The pediatrician asked her if she was going to make it -- and she said "of course - - I have another month to go."
On Wednesday, May 15, my mom woke up around 1AM and realized her water had broken. She woke up Dad, called the doctor, and called her friend, Denise, who arrived about an hour later to be there for Colin.
Mom & Dad got to the hospital around 4AM, and Mom was definitely having contractions. She was admitted to the hospital, and I was born at 2:35 PM on May 15, 2002 at the Scottsdale Shea Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ.
I weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 21" long. Not bad for a baby who came 4 weeks early!
